Starting the big forge for the new timber framed shop. With the freezing rain and just plain nasty weather I figured it would be a good time to work on some of the things that we will need for the blacksmith shop in the barn, you have not seen anything for woodworking yet because I have most of that already and that will just need to be moved to the second floor woodshop for all of our woodworking pleasure. This is a large forge pot for this coal forge and I needed something for heat treating long pieces such as large draw knives, froes and timber framing slicks. The steel is 1/2' thick mild steel, the top of the firepot is 14.5" x 12" and the sides are cut at a 60* angle.
