Douglas Knight (DK) is a social entrepreneur, activator, speaker, coach, and cheerleader for the non-profit FOR-IMPACT sector. In roles as staff member, board member, coach, and consultant, Doug has worked with organizations of various sizes and scopes, to best maximize their abilities to provide impact in their respective communities.  From "friend" raising to fundraising, strategic planning to event management, and everything in-between, Doug looks to bring passion and excitement to projects and campaigns with organizations ranging from mid-size associations to small, local start up organizations.  Doug's focus areas include: strategic fund development, strategic planning, special event management, marketing/PR, and communications. Doug has shared his enthusiasm, passion and presentations at numerous events and conference, including TEDx events.

In 2011, Doug partnered with DC Central Kitchen Founder Robert Egger to launch a new movement in the nonprofit sector. CForward is a non-partisan Political Action Committee (PAC) whose mission is to educate and elect candidates (federal, state, and local) who see the value of the nonprofit sector as an asset, resource and partner in the economic rebuild of our communities we serve; and promote the overall strength and impact of the nonprofit sector as the third largest private employment sector in the US. 

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
