Gal-dem Founder Liv Little on maximizing creativity – backstage at WE Day UK.

Liv Little couldn’t recognize herself in the media available to her, so she created her own platform. And so was born gal-dem, an online and print magazine that’s become a creative outlet for Liv and its contributors; “The aim of gal-dem is to open up our take on the world to a wider audience,” reads the magazine’s website. With a talent roster of 70 women and non-binary people of colour, gal-dem also happens to be a prime example of how creativity can be used to achieve the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals, specifically number 10 on the list: reduced inequalities. To mark World Creativity and Innovation Day, Liv—a University of Bristol student and editor-in-chief of gal-dem—shares how she turned to creativity when looking for a way to address representation in the media.
