After the 2015 documentary (http://jcmdi.com/scrubjay/index.html) with two chicks (both were unfortunately taken by a Cooper's Hawk while out learning to fly), the Scrub Jay pair attempted another brood that same year which apparently failed due to a poor nesting location. In 2016, the pair successfully reared several chicks in an inaccessible location which prevented observation and documentation.

2017 finds the pair back in the same tree as the 2015 documentary, hard at work again raising 3 chicks. Equipped with a GoPro Hero4 black this time, filming was done in 4K (reduced to full HD for this upload) using the same pole cam setup as in 2015. These scenes were filmed on May 7th, 2017 as some rainy weather is coming through the area. The scenes have darkened, the wind is pick up a bit and you hear light rain falling in some clips.
