Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan Cabinet Decision Government Financial Year will be from 1st January to 31st December.
In a first of its kind move in the country, the Madhya Pradesh Cabinet here on Tuesday gave the approval to advance the commencement of financial year to January 1 from the existing April 1, breaking a 156-year-old tradition in the country.
Madhya Pradesh has become the first state in the country to declare English calendar year, January 1-December 31, as the state’s financial year, following the Cabinet decision.

अंग्रेजी हुकूमत की शुरू की हुई अप्रैल से मार्च के बीच वित्त वर्ष की दशकों पुरानी परंपरा को खत्म करते हुए मध्य प्रदेश की शिवराज सरकार ने अहम फैसले में राज्य का वित्त वर्ष 1 जनवरी से 31 दिसंबर कर दिया है. मंगलवार को कैबिनेट की बैठक में यह फैसला हुआ. बदले हुए नियमों के मुताबिक राज्य का बजट सत्र दिसबंर में होगा.

बता दें कि प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी भी वित्त वर्ष की अवधि बदलने को लेकर अपील कर चुके हैं. प्रधानमंत्री के साथ ही संसद की एक समिति ने देश में वित्त वर्ष की अवधि बदलने की सिफारिश की है. इस अपील पर अमल करने वाला मध्य प्रदेश पहला राज्य है
