Kiharu member of parliament Ndindi Nyoro has urged his fellow parliamentarians to ease off their demand for an increase in their allowances terming them as selfish and unnecessary. Speaking after a fundraiser for Mumbi Catholic Church, the MP said that members of parliament should put the interest of the country first because when the country thrives so does every citizen including themselves. He was reacting to the report by the National Assembly's Committee on Members' Service and Facilities that recommended car grants, allowances, mileage and mortgages be reviewed upwards.
