Excerpt from Dodge College's film "Shadows in the Forest"
We showed this excerpt on the Forest Voices Tour to the Baka communities. http://www.forestvoices.com
It showed them that they are not alone with their problems. The Bagyelli, Pygmy People from the west coast region of Cameroon with a completely different language to the Baka, face the same problems of having their forest denied to them.

Many of the Baka in Cameroon have heard of Baka Gbiné as they are the only all Baka band to get their music played on Cameroon radio and television. When they heard that they would be playing in their village they all came. After the concert we showed a series of short films.

We chose films that were in Baka and where Baka were discussing life, the universe and everything. It proved to be incredibly empowering to people who are told daily that they have no value because they are "Pygmies".

We then gave the Baka villagers the chance to speak to camera so that their voices too could be heard.

We are planning another tour in 2015. Help it happen by buying their music at http://baka.gbine.com
