Post-Production: Hamid Bendaas | Fire Escape Films (http://www.fireescapefilms.org/) Borris Powell is one of the biggest names in Chicago fashion. Powell moved to Chicago to start his design career in 1997, and in the past decade has built himself a devoted following in luxury women's clothing. He is the Founder of Borris Powell Designs. He won the prestigious Oscars Designer Challenge in 2011 with his Black Swan-inspired evening gown and has received numerous accolades in the local and national press. His fall-winter 2014 collection, "FREEDOM," debuted on March 14, 2014, at Block Thirty Seven. The collection features daytime and evening wear with an assortment of bags for men and women, as well as a new line of accessories—including his first ever men's wallet and his first ever lipstick in his signature Red Color. -- In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
