In the second day before the Senate Judiciary committee [Tuesday, July 14th], President Obama's nominee to the U.S. Supreme Court faced questions about bias, racial discrimination and abortion. Judge Sonia Sotomayor, a member of a federal appeals court in New York, faced tough questions from Republicans and friendly queries from Democrats. If confirmed, she would be the first Hispanic and only the third woman to win a lifetime appointment to the high court. VOA's Carolyn Presutti brings us the highlights.
