Actress Mia Farrow calls for justice in Darfur

United Nations, New York, 5 June 2009 - Following on from informal remarks made to the media by Chief Prosectutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Mr. Luis Moreno-Ocampo, actress Mia Farrow has called on the international community to support the ICC's bid to bring peace and justice to Darfur. Mia Farrow described her visit to the region and called for immediate action to stop the suffering in Darfur and surrounding areas. Earlier, Mr. Moreno-Ocampo told the UN Security Council that his priorities over the next few months would include continued monitoring of crimes in Sudans war-torn Darfur region and the arrest of fugitives, including the countrys leader, President Omar Al-Bashir.
