Japan to set up commission against crimes by U.S. military base personnel

Japanese Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said on Thursday that Japan is set to create a special interdepartmental commission for preventing crimes committed by US military base personnel. The decision came after a young woman was raped and strangled by a former U.S. Marine in Okinawa last month, whose body was dumped in a forested area.
