The results of the thermite experiment to create synthetic ruby. There is nothing significantly visible at this point from the results, though there are some interesting observations to be made of the end product. I think it may still be possible to form infant crust layer formations between the solidified iron/slag and the synthetic ruby oxide feed material, but a much larger amount of thermite would be necessary and performing such an experiment in a residential area I find inappropriate and inconsiderate to my neighbors. I also don't have enough ready to use iron oxide to make a larger batch at this time.
