Theresa May promised the country her Brexit deal was in the 'national interest' today as she launched a desperate fight 'with all my heart' to get the divorce through the Commons. After an historic summit to seal the deal, the Prime Minister said it took back control of 'our laws, borders and money' while protecting jobs. At a press conference to mark the landmark day in Brussels, Mrs May began a two week battle to persuade fractious MPs the deal was the best available - but the PM's hopes look bleak with cross-party opposition. She vowed to make the case 'with all my heart' and insisted the deal set the stage for a 'brighter future' for Britain. EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker warned MPs the Brext divorce is the 'only deal possible' today as Brussels signed off on the plans at an historic summit. Effectively telling MPs to take the deal or leave it, Mr Juncker used his press conference to underline Mrs May's fight in the Commons.
