Forty cyclists took part in DWT's 50-mile Heart of Dartmoor Cycle Challenge on 12 May as part of the Trust's 50th anniversary. The fantastic weather ensured that everyone could enjoy Dartmoor's spectacular scenery, as well as its fearsome hills! Cyclists came from as far afield as North Wales and Northamptonshire to take part and also included a team from DWT's corporate supporter Pipex px. Completing the route was a gruelling but very rewarding experience for cyclists across a wide age range, from 12 to 73. Thank you to all who took part -- cyclists, sponsors and volunteers, without whom this hugely successful event could not have taken place. Special thanks to Big Peaks of Ashburton who supported the Challenge. More than £3000 was raised from the event for DWT, and the event will be held again in 2013.
