Today we're exploring the Panerai Luminor Marina La Jolla Limited Edition, also known as PAM 465. This is 1 of 75 from the San Diego Boutique limited series. Despite it being a very rare and special edition piece, the watch itself appears to be very iconic. The iconic 43mm case made Panerai a sensation in the mid 1990's. 

The case is quite compact, with a thickness of just 14.5mm and measure of 53.5mm from lug to lug. With a sloped bezel, the watch fits under a dress cuff quite easily. The lugs are short and are close cropped, making the watch wear smaller than it actually is. 

The watch has a satisfying heft to it and the stainless steel caseback makes the watch as special as it is. The caseback features an intricate engraving of La Jolla Cove, which is just of of San Francisco. 

The dial is set apart from most Panerai watches due to the "pig," or manned torpedo, dial. The rest of the dial is classic, modern Panerai Luminor Marina. The patina effect pays tribute to vintage Panerai watches. In addition, the clever locking system provides you with protection and convenience. 

Despite its boutique status and rarity, this piece is beautiful and iconic. The strap is made from thick cut calfskin that is supple and comfortable to wear.
