Sónia Cunha reminds us that every 40 seconds around the world someone takes their own life. Over 15 years at the National Medicine Emergency Institute she witnessed this dark side of society and now she shares a 'first aid kit' that, if we are aware and act, can help us save lives.

Sónia Cunha é Psicóloga do Centro de Apoio Psicológico e de Intervenção em Crise do INEM desde 2004. Este centro está especialmente preparado para intervir em situações de crise, de emergência ou catástrofe. Situações de vida e morte – verdades inequívocas e absolutas – mas também situações enigmáticas, de quem vive no lado negro da sociedade e se esconde no meio da multidão.

Sónia Cunha is a psychologist at the Psychological Support and Crisis Intervention Center of Portugal's National Medicine Emergency Institute since 2004. This center is especially prepared to intervene in critical situations, emergencies and catastrophes. Situations of life and death – unequivocal and absolute truths – but also in enigmatic situations, by those who live on the dark side of society and hide in the midst of the crowd.
