It took me a bit to warm up to the Xalta 2TB. Built on the 170 inch extended wheelbase the Xalta is 24 feet 8 inches in length (including the spare tire carrier). It's definitely not going to fit into a standard parking space. However, the inside puts that extra space to good use. The two cab seats swivel around and a table can be set up between them creating a nice front lounge. The driver's seat has its own workstation, similar in design to the Pleasure-way Plateau FL though not executed quite as well. There is a solid surface Corian counter top with a power outlet and USB ports but the cabinets are traditional looking and there's not curved radius floor and cabinet doors. Still it functions as a front lounge well. I wish the base of the work station was set back a bit more to allow for your legs under the desk.

The kitchen is a good size and features an electric oven (sorry folks, no induction); a compressor refrigerator and convection microwave oven. There's plenty of storage and the galley sits on the passenger site of the van which means you look out onto your own camp site. The entire passenger side is wide open from front to back and lets lots of light in.

The rear lounge is comprised of two sideways facing sofas. A table top can be placed between them. Like other twin facing sofa configurations, the height of the sofas is too high and the seat is too deep. It isn't comfortable to sit in. There are no seat belts on either sofa so this is a couple's van. The sofas convert to two twin beds and they are long enough to accommodate taller individuals.

At the rear of the van is the bathroom. There's a wet bath (shower and toilet) behind it's own door on the driver's side and a vanity and sink opposite on the passenger side. This is a nice arrangement as one person can be in the bathroom while the other is using the vanity.

Movement within the van is good. There are not step ups or downs. There's pretty good aisle width midsection - I don't think you'll need to do the "galley shuffle". The only negative is the cabinet above the cab which is too small to be of any real use yet will always be there to bump your head.

The fit and finish is pretty good. They use ultra-leather and solid wood cabinets. There's even ultra-leather insets in the cabinet doors if you like that look. The wardrobe closet is lined in suede as are the walls of the coach. The captains chairs are upgraded to ultra-leather and have a higher end, sophisticated look to them. Other nice touches are the chrome-tipped tail pipe and custom designed front grill.

Two things really stand out with the Xalta. The first is its price. As listed at this dealer this Xalta was $114k which is a good deal consider its competition is $30k more. Also, Regency gives the Xalta a nice 3 year warranty which is the same as an Airstream Interstate and 3 times longer than what you'd get for a Winnebago Era.

For these reasons I recommend the Regency Xalta to a price sensitive couple looking for a coach that gives them pretty good quality, a nice layout and an excellent price backed by a 3 year warranty.
