The president's White House spokeswoman declined to explain conflicting stories on Monday about a controversial statement she publicly claimed the president did not 'dictate' that his lawyers, in a confidential memo to the special counsel, says he did. Sanders in an August press briefing said 'he weighed in' on his son's statement about a Trump Tower meeting with Russian lawyer while insisting that it was not 'dictated' by the president. A memo the president's outside lawyers sent the special counsel that surfaced over the weekend claimed the opposite.
