My hike from 7-3-09 to Rainbow Falls: Before the Roaring Forks Motor Nature Trail you'll find the Rainbow Falls trailhead near a parking area. It's highly visited, and well worth the 2.7 mile hike to see it. Total hike is 5.4 miles. It's rated as a moderate hike, and the trail is filled with rocks and roots, so wear a boots to support your ankles. It's one of the true water falls in The Great Smoky Mountains, and drops a stunning 80 feet. The video does not do it justice because there isn't any people in the shot to use as a reference, this fall was huge!
