Born from a white mother and a black father, she calls herself a black and white women. Finding her way in the, by white men dominated, Dutch media as a successful radio and TV host and the news anchor of the biggest commercial TV-stations, she is a inspiration for many. Diana Matroos first started out as an editor at RTL Nieuws and has been a news host since 2004, both on radio and tv. In this position, to her everything comes together: the stage, the dynamics of the news, and the interaction with people. Diana will share her personal story. She is Surinamese, she is Dutch and she is the face of a commercial channel. How was her journey, the choices she has made? And how does she see the current state of diversity in Hilversum?
