For a long time, I thought the area that I live in was quite... boring. Lots of flat land, straight roads, and cornfields.

However, I recently realized the beauty of my side of Ohio, especially as a Catholic. We have MANY Gothic-revival churches in our area, along with a beautiful Shrine of Holy Relics and a hundred-year old seminary.

This is a video of the St. Charles Seminary, which not only houses retired priests and brothers, but also seniors of the public. In the estate is a grave, a farm, the housing, and a gorgeous chapel. The seminary is located just south of the small community of Carthagena, Ohio, which is about a ten minute drive from my hometown.

On the third floor of the seminary is a parlor room with a real nice baby grand. I went ahead and recorded myself playing it, which can be heard in the duration of this video!

The seminary was named after the Italian, Saint Charles Borromeo, patron of the arts and learning. His feast day is November 4.

Enjoy!
