A game that is nice to look at, but not much else. Being a game by "From Software" (many of their games which I enjoy somewhat, ranging from King's Field and Armored Core to Otogi) and being developed for Xbox no less, you'd expect this game to be more sufficient than it is. Fans of games like Armored Core with its great level of customization will be bewildered and those looking for a straightforward mech game with lots of action will possibly be frustrated. While the game was probably meant to seem like a combination of Armored Core and a hectic Arcade action game, the game is so simple in design and uninteresting with really bad dialogue that it really doesn't do the system justice, not to mention FS is much better than this.

It's said that many magazines and critics ripped this game apart and I'd have to say that it deserves much of the criticism, if for nothing other than simply being pretty mediocre, linear, slightly hard to control (mainly boosting and slowing down), non-diverse gameplay, terrible dialogue, and being ephemeral overall. The sense of "speed" only helped for the first ten missions. Fortunately, I already own several FS titles like King's Field, Armored Core, Evergrace, and Otogi, so this is no big deal... but what if I didn't???

Interesting Tidbit: The default red Cloud Breaker (ARK No.1 LX-55-Cloud Breaker 01) makes an appearance in Enchanted Arms, another "From Software" title.
