In November 1992, René Klijn appeared in the Dutch TV Show 'Schreeuw van de Leeuw' hosted by Paul de Leeuw. René was suffering from AIDS and by appearing in the show talking about his illness and answering questions he gave aids a face. He sang the Yazzo song 'Mr Blue'. Shortly after the show, René went into the studio to record 'Mr Blue'. The song became a huge hit. The episode of the TV show was rewarded with the Bronze Rose at the TV festival of Montreux and the Silver Medal TV programs and Promotion Award at the New York Festival. René Klijn passed away Seeptember 5, 1993. Only 30 years old.
