A meeting between Kenya's ruling party and the opposition was aborted after the opposition walked out in protest against plans by the ruling party to amend electoral laws. The meeting was called by the electoral commission to iron out sticky issues ahead of fresh elections. The ruling Jubilee party presented in parliament proposals to change the electoral laws, amongst other things to prevent the Supreme Court from annulling election results. The oppositions says it will not be part of the talks unless Jubilee withdraws the laws, which they say are aimed at sanitising the flaws of the nullified August elections.
