Just to clarify, when I talk about how Typology "tells a person they are one thing and not another" I did not mean to imply that it does indeed limit people in that way -- that's obviously not the case. People assume that that is what it is trying to do because they do not separate the stereotypes of the imposed label from the abstract theory behind it, and are uncomfortable with being circumscribed in any way because they assume that all such circumscription is necessarily bad and wrong-headed.
