Yawei has practiced cross-country skiing since 2015 and has represented the national team at many international competitions. Her best result has been 3rd place in Women's Long Distance sitting class at the Canmore 2017 World Para Nordic Skiing World Cup, CAN.

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is partnering with its Worldwide Paralympic Partner Samsung to provide 25 bloggers the chance to record exclusive behind-the-scenes video blogs during the PyeongChang 2018 Paralympic Winter Games.
