In the early 90's there was a deli called Something Different in Montclair NJ. They allowed small rock and roll shows in the back at night and every local band who was anyone started out there or at some similar joint. My heavy metal band DECREPED was no exception and this was our first live show. The year was 1990. After this miss of a show we buckled down and practiced for months eventually landing gigs in much bigger places. We played Obsessions in Randolph maybe a half dozen times, A bunch of battle of the bands shows and even had one night in Newark at a famous club which I forget the name of. Our largest show had over 75 guests just for our band. I hope I run across some later DECREPED shows when we actually knew what we wee doing. Hey, we were all 16 and 17 years old and for almost everyone there it was their first real band experience. I think it went pretty well. I can't thank Howie enough for capturing this all on VHS at the time. I am amazed it survived to the digital age. Thank goodness my mullet did not.
