Protest action in Gomora turns violent - cars and buildings set alight

Police in Pretoria had their hands full on Thursday morning. 
Close to a thousand residents of Gomora (an informal settlement, close to Hercules west of Pretoria) have been blocking roads and setting several fires. A truck was also reportedly set alight. Police fired hails of rubber bullets, dozens of tear gas canisters and stun grenades, in a bid to keep the hostile protesters at bay.
