The BMW X1 (E84 internally) is the first compact SUV model from BMW and thus also the first car in its class from a German premium manufacturer. Since the summer of 2009 at the BMW plant in Leipzig produced, it is available at the merchants since 24 October 2009. Due to the success of the X1 competitors have developed their own high-pressure models in this class as Audi unveiled the Q3 (Typ8U internally) in summer 2011, Mercedes Benz the GLA (X156 internally) at the end of 2013. Der BMW X1 (intern E84) ist das erste Kompakt SUV Modell von BMW und damit auch das erste Auto seiner Klasse eines deutschen Premiumherstellers.  Seit Sommer 2009 im BMW Werk in Leipzig produziert, steht er seit dem 24. Oktober 2009 beim Händler. Aufgrund des großen Erfolges vom X1 haben die Konkurrenten unter Hochdruck eigene Modelle dieser Klasse entwickelt so stellte Audi den Q3 (intern Typ8U) im Sommer 2011 und Mercedes Benz den GLA (intern X156) Ende 2013 vor.
