Yepsen: Senator, we've only got about a minute left.   What thoughts do you want democratic activists to carry with them about you as they head out on caucus night?   What should they remember?

Obama: What I want them to remember is that I've spent over two decades fighting for the core values of the Democratic Party.   I fought for justice and equality as a civil rights lawyer.   I fought for the constitution as a constitutional law professor.

I have fought to make sure that ordinary working families have health care, have the kinds of economic opportunity that they deserve.   I have consistently fought for the kinds of foreign policy that will resolve conflicts without resort to the military force.

And so, you know, I've been consistent in my values and my ideals, and I think that they are the values and the ideals of the Democratic Party.  And I think that the day that I am nominated and certainly the day that I'm inaugurated, this country will look at itself differently and the world will look at America differently.

That's not just symbolic.   That allows me to do some things that previous Presidents have not done.
