This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In a da Vinci Code-esque twist of faith, in 2011 Teio Meedendorp was presented with a oil painting that was claimed to be a van Gogh, lost for over a hundred years. Could this truly be a Vincent?

Teio is currently a researcher at the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, and recently headed the team that confirmed the discovery of the new Van Gogh painting: "Sunset at Montmajour". He has authored and contributed to several books on the subject of Van Gogh, including: "Becoming Van Gogh" and "Drawings and Prints by Vincent van Gogh: In the Collection of the Kröller-Müller Museum".

About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
