Jack Hylton u.s. Orchester - Choo Choo, Foxtrot (Malneck, Trumbauer), Electrola 1931 (Recorded in UK; German product) NOTE: This fabulous British swing recording proves what enormous potentials had always had Jack Hyltons's dance band during its long-lasting career in the 1920s and 1930s in UK. In the Roaring Twenties, Jack Hylton was one of the most popular dance bands in London's West End, performing predeominantly in one of the most famous nocturnal haunts in London, the Kit-Cat-Club in Haymarket. However in the 1930s, when many of formerly popular dance bands had to disband in the dawn of the Big Band Era - unable to meet the requirements of new swing arrangements - Jack Hylton's orchestra was on the top again, sharing its leadership with such band leading moguls of the British Swing Era like Lew Stone, Nat Gonella, Carroll Gibbons & his Savoy Orpheans, Bert Ambrose, Oscar Rabin, Billy Ternent, Billy Cotton or Arthur Lally - to name just a little handful of them. Special bonus in this recording are two fabulous Americans jazz composers who wrote the "Choo Choo" tune. One is Matt Malneck, composer and violinist who in the 1920s/30s played for some time with Bill Beiderbecke and whose seveeral compositions became pop-standards, including "I'll Never Be The Same", "I'm Thru With Love" or "Goody Goody. Second, is famous saxophonist and composer of "Georgia On My Mind" Frank Trumbauer, who also was performing in the 1920s/30s with Beiderbecke and Eddie Lang. The slideshow to such tume must be ofcourse, some posters and photographs from the Golden Era of the steam train travels.
