Bigorexia has become the male equivalent of female body disorders. It's when a guy who lifts and works out never feels big enough! It's the feeling you get when you hit the gym and always feel small. This feeling is created by the ridiculously unrealistic portrayal of the ideal male body that has now become standard. Many guys feel like less of a man due to not being able to attain these unrealistic 'natural' bodybuilding standards. Bigorexia is muscle dysmorphia. It is the reason for many male insecurities in this modern age. To kill these insecurities I suggest you lift for yourself. Stop worrying about what other people think and set your own goals. Bigorexia comes from trying to adhere to other peoples unrealistic standards. Find what works for you and work with it. The problem is far more common than many would assume, even fitness models have admitted to experiencing symptoms of bigorexia. Rich Piana who recently passed away was very public about his bigorexia. Rich Piana previously had bulked up to 315lbs in an attempt to get 'bigger by the day'. Ultimately rich stopped due to health reasons and before his death attempted to get to a more reasonable body weight. Remember guys you will find more happiness when you begin lifting for yourself and not others.
