Candomblé ονομάζεται μια θρησκεία διαδεδομένη στη Μπαϊα της Βραζιλίας με ρίζες αφρικάνικες. Εμφανίστηκε στη χώρα την εποχή της πορτογαλικής αποικιοκρατίας και για πολλά χρόνια παρέμεινε κρυμμένη πισω από τα χριστιανικά σύμβολα. Οι θεοί της λέγονται Ορισάς και οι πιστοί τους υπηρετούν σε μια σχέση δούναι και λαβείν για να βελτιώσουν τη ζωή τους. Στις τελετές της Candomblé κυριαρχούν τα κρουστά και ο ρυθμός τους οδηγεί κάποιους σε "καταληψία" από τον Ορισά τους.

Candomblé is a religion with African roots practiced mainly in the state of Bahia in Brasil. It originated in the country during the Portuguese colonial period and it remained concealed behind the symbols of Christianity.
The deities in Candomblé are called Orishas. The believers have a give-and-take relationship with Orishas and serve them in order to improve their life.
During Candomblé rituals percussion instruments are predominant and their rhythm makes some of the followers fall into a trance.
