President Mitch Daniels led a celebration Monday (Feb. 17) for the installation of "Washington Crossing the Delaware" in the Class of 1950 Lecture Hall. At the Presidents Day event, the audience also heard remarks from David Parrish, professor of art history, and Franklin Lambert, professor of history. They discussed George Washington's contributions to the nation's founding, the historical context of the event depicted in the painting, and a historical perspective on the painting as an art form and a portrait of military history. http://www.purdue.edu/president/media/2014/washington-painting.html
