Thieves struck two Lee's Summit businesses over the weekend, driving off with more than $169,000 worth of vehicles and equipment.

Police said the thefts happened in the 200 block of Northwest Commerce Court Saturday between 10 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Investigators said Soil Tek, which specializes in seeding and erosion control, and Bright Plumbing share a fenced parking lot.

Soil Tek lost a Freightliner tractor-trailer, a 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Quad cab pulling a trailer, a John Deere tractor and other equipment. The plumbing company had power tools and other equipment stolen from a company truck.
