ARHR seeks to promote rights-based approaches to sexual and reproductive health through advocacy and inclusive policy making in the interest of underserved communities, the poor and the marginalised. ARHR advocates by empowering community-based NGOs and citizens on knowledge in reproductive health issues and the Ghanaian government's commitments to ensuring health. Since its inception in 2004, ARHR has used a variety of advocacy methods from external/outside mobilisation to engaging the government constructively on policy issues. ARHR also leads a network of health NGOs called the "Health Platform" that was formed to track Ghana's progress towards meeting the health MDGs.
