When I saw CommeDesMoutons on Etsy featured on Hauspanther, I got super excited because we have reviewed a super chunky cat bed before, but not a mat.  I thought the mat would be a hit, given what my cats have been laying on lately.

Well, as it turns out, I was right.  This "landing pad" has been quite the hit, especially with Chiggy - as you can see in the unboxing video and the product review video below.  I have also found Charlie on it more than I thought I would.

The CommeDesMoutons chunky crochet round cat mat is made of 100% natural wool - and I mean NATURAL!  So much so that Chiggy smelled like a horse (I don't know the smell of a sheep) after laying on it for hours.  I'd rather he smell like a horse than nasty chemicals from memory foam or something like that.

The Chunky crochet oval pet mat from CommeDesMoutons on Etsy is a handmade item by the Etsy seller and was shipped to us from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.  She sent me a small after I gave her the measurements of my cats. S: 45 cm (18”).

One of the great things about ordering from Etsy is that you have direct contact with the seller - so be sure to reach out to her if you have any questions or concerns.  For example, she can make the bed in single or double stitch- a beautiful spiral in the pattern, or double stitch, which makes the bed more firm and durable for frisky cats.

I love cat beds like this that are beautifully pure and a sustainable product of nature, produced animal-friendly so the sheep can be as happy as your cat.

Please do keep in mind that the wool is not treated with chemicals and the cat bed is soft & cosy, also a very eco friendly bed for your pet.  There are cleaning instructions on her Etsy page, should you need to give it a thorough cleaning.  But in general, it's easy to vacuum.
