Food: the one thing that is able to unite anyone at anytime. Thomas shares his story of how he became a leading entrepreneur by building a South African fusion restaurant and more importantly, how he broke down the racial stereotypes from the get go. Thomas completed his law degree at UT Austin. Dissatisfied with the path he was on, he decided to pursue his passion in business and marketing. Thomas serves as the Chief Marketing Officer for the Peli Peli, a South African fusion restaurant based in Houston, In 2015, he was named one of Houston Business Journal’s “40 Under 40”. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
