Demand for Universal Pension: "We are all on our way to old age; this is everyone’s issue."

According to the State of Pension Report, 2018, over 58 million Indian elderly are still denied the benefits of pension. Asserting that adequate pension is an economic right, the elderly demanded that the monthly entitlement should be equivalent to half of the minimum wage - Rs. 3000 at the minimum. Thousands of elderly gathered and protested at Parliament Street do demand their basic rights.
