SYRACUSE, NY -- The Fireman's Association of the State of New York's annual convention held a youth training day at the Syracuse Fire Department Training Center on Friday. Junior firefighters were led through five stations including: Familiarization and demonstration of the Syracuse Fire Department Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting truck, standpipe operations in high-rise buildings, searching through a maze with tight restrictions with some members blindfolded, and hose relay races. They also practiced rescuing a firefighter in distress through a window with a pulley system.
