Before you start you will need FTDI to USB adapter and drivers installed for it. Download driver at http://www.ftdichip.com/Drivers/VCP.htm for your OS. Exract it to some folder, plug in FTDI adapter and let Windows detect it. Specify driver location (to where you extract files). If everything ok, you will see new USB COM Port in your device manager. Steps: 1. Go to www.xronosclock.com, click on Support 2. Download Latest firmware zip file 3. If you don't have AVRDude, you can download it as well (about 40 Mb) 4. For easiest update, create "xronos" folder on C: drive and extract files there. If you want to use another location you will need to edit update_xronos.bat file and specify location of avrdude.exe and config manually. 5. Extract downloaded files to c:\xronos. You should have AVR folder, and 2 files. 6. Find out COM port number of your FTDI adapter (via Device manaager\Ports). In our example it's COM3. So you will need to remember number "3". 7. Edit "start_here.bat" file and specify COM port number from previous step and filename of your .hex firmware file. 8. Save file. 9. If you haven't connected your FTDI adapter to USB port and to Xronos clock FTDI header do it now. 10. Start "start_here.bat" file (you might need to run it as Administrator) 11. If everything was configured correctly you will see success message and green screen. Let me know if you have any questions! :)
