Understanding the Parables of the Kingdom "Parable of the Wheat & Tares"

Most people do not realize that many of Jesus’s Parables were intended not as a general morality story, but as an illustration of a particular pronouncement of coming judgment or change. Israel was being warned to (change) repent and accept the King or else fall under the judgment of God coming upon that system and that generation. In the Parable to the Wheat & Tares, many incorrectly assume Jesus is talking about the end of the physical planet. However in context, Jesus is talking about the end of a specific age during the time period of the 1st century. Jesus and John announced the end of one age and the beginning of a new age called the Kingdom. This parable describes the then soon-coming END of that old religious AGE and the destruction of its children (followers and leaders).
