When he was in class 11, he got a chance to learn Kuchipudi formally in Ongole; however, he chose to keep all it a hush-hush affair from his family since he feared that they wouldn't approve of his interest in Kuchipudi. 

For nearly eight years, he kept everything under wraps and later, changed his name to Hari and moved to Hyderabad to follow his dream. And finally, in 2008, his family got to know about his profession through a TV channel. It almost sounds like a script waiting to be adapted as feature film about a boy, born into a Muslim family, who does everything he can to learn Kuchipudi. No wonder, Haleem Khan has been approached by several scholars and documentary filmmakers, who were quite fascinated with his life, to say the least.

In an exclusive interview with 'Talking Movies with iDream', Haleem Khan tells us about how he fell in love with Kuchipudi, why he doesn't want his family members to watch him perform on stage, and keeping the tradition of 'female impersonation' alive in Kuchipudi.
