China, the US and others agree to multilateral air encounter code

China, the US, and several other countries have backed a set of guidelines to manage unexpected encounters between military aircraft. This air code has been called the first multilateral deal of its kind. At the fifth ASEAN Defence Ministers Meeting Plus in Singapore, countries at the meeting also reaffirmed their support to fight terrorism through capacity-building and information sharing.
