The 2014 Tempt One Kung Fu Championships was a resounding success and an excellent opportunity to share true joy and solidarity as members of the Chinese Martial Arts community. Every one of the pioneers, mentors, students, and parents, demonstrated outstanding support for this event. I humbly applaud true pioneers like Shifu Ron Quan and the East Wind Foundation, for continuing to light the torch of hope for our youth. Profound tournaments like this are the foundation for success. They continue to inspire new generations of courageous practitioners ready to take the lead in the 21st century. Kung Fu is not a product. It cannot be purchased at a local flea market, nor can it be sold for all the money in world. In Buddhism, we regard Kung Fu and other valuable but intangible possessions as “treasures of the heart” in which, only through a process of countless years of dedication can it be attained.
