FM Elliot Liu shares his thoughts and analysis during one of the more important games of his young career, a victory that brought him his second IM norm. His GM opponent achieves a very good, solid opening, but Elliott patiently and carefully builds a good position, then seizes a surprising moment to radically activate his pieces with a positional pawn sacrifice. A very good lesson in the relation between pawns and pieces placement.
