Gibson has always been acknowledged for their keen eye for innovation -- from Orville's invention of the archtop guitar in 1894 to the release of their first solidbody guitar which became an instant classic, the legendary Les Paul in 1952. In commemoration of their 120 years of innovation, Gibson USA presents to you a revolutionary Les Paul that captures the legendary tone and charm of those coveted vintage "Bursts" Les Pauls from the late '50s/early '60s and blends that with some of Gibson's most cutting-edge upgrades yet to give you the 2014 Les Paul Signature.

The pairing of maple and mahogany has always been one of the most important characteristics that define the Les Paul guitars. The top of the 2014 Les Paul Signature is carved from AA figured maple (with the exception of the Ebony finish) with a traditional weight relieved mahogany back to reduce the weight of these heavy-by-nature guitars while retaining a solid feel and enhancing their overall resonance. To cater to this Les Paul Signature's elegance, the top features 3-ply white/black/white binding and if offered in several breathtaking finishes including carribean blue, heritage cherry sunburst, vintage sunburst, honey burst, wine red and ebony. The glued-in mahogany neck is carved into the 'slim 60s neck profile, one of Gibson's most sought-after neck profiles due to it's sleek, comfortable shape. The necks topped with a white bound rosewood fingerboard that houses 22 undercut, cryogenic-treated frets to resist fret corrosion and ensure a long-lasting fret life. The fingerboard also boasts traditional trapezoid inlays with a commemorative 120th Anniversary inlay at the 12th fret.
