"Earlier almost every Pujo used to look the same. But, ever since Asian Paints Sharad Shamman came in, a lot of variety also came in. Creativity, art and craft came in. And, not just from here, but from all parts of the country to make the pandals as good as they could get.

Better overall management, environment management and aesthetics started reassuring people and bringing them back to pandals. Residents started getting involved in their neighbourhood pandals. As a result, within 10-12 years, the whole Durga Puja scene changed in Kolkata. It was almost a fresh lease of life. We never saw positive change of this scale in the previous 60 years."
