One of today's most popular celebrity chefs, Jamie Oliver, began his apprenticeship under him: Antonio Carluccio is known as the Godfather of Italian Cooking and is the original celebrity chef. After moving to London in the 1970s, Antonio and his former wife founded the Neal Street Restaurant in London's Covent Garden, and after that developed the successful chain of cafes, Carluccio's. Recently he was awarded an OBE for his lifetime service to the Italian food industry.
